ABOUT

We are a small family owned business that has been running for the past 30 years specialising in Peking Duck. The chef/owner Ming learnt his culinary skills in Hong Kong and came to Adelaide in 1986 to teach cooking at Regency Tafe. Then in 1989 he decided to venture out and open his own restaurant on Gouger street and that’s when Ming’s Palace was born. Starting a new business in a foreign country was hard work and had its ups and downs, however through Ming’s perseverance and the support from his family, Ming’s Palace has now become a popular family restaurant that has the best Peking Duck in Adelaide!

A man’s home is his palace and Ming’s Palace is ultimately a large welcoming home to everyone in Adelaide who had been dining with us since we first started.

SPECIALTIES

The Peking Duck  is our signature dish that needs to be ordered 24 hours in advance in order to achieve that crispy skin texture. The Peking Duck is a 3 course meal where the first course is the duck skin wrapped in pancakes with spring onion, cucumber and our special sauce. It’s important to mention that the pancakes are made daily and cooked individually which is why they taste soft and airy. The second course is using the duck meat and having it stir fried in either noodles or rice. Finally, the last course is a light duck bone soup which helps to settle the stomach after all the food.

The Fortune Chicken is another popular dish that requires at least 5-6 hours of preparation time as it is deboned and then marinated in shallots and herbs that gives it a strong and flavoursome taste. The chicken is then roasted gently before it is deep fried for a crispy and tender finish. This dish is a favourite amongst all our customers.
